Friendswood
When a small group of Quakers (Friends) traveled to the Texas Gulf Coast in 1895, they settled in an area located in the Northwest corner of Galveston County, their “Promised Land” which they named Friendswood. Today, although it has grown to a population of over 39,000, Friendswood still retains its small town charm and sense of community. The importance of education is also reflected in Friendswood school’s exemplary ratings, some of the best in the entire Houston area. Friendswood’s location, midway between Houston and Galveston, is perfect to enjoy the amenities of a major city, the beach, and all the amenities that the Bay Area has to offer.
